Points over Par

Wages of Wins has a new metric: Points over Par. As best I can tell, it is essentially a player’s +/-, adjusted for what the average player would have done in their position. Could be cool looking at it each game and comparing within a team. Obviously the cross-team comparisons are flawed just because a good player on a bad team will still be outscored and have a negative PoP.
UPDATE: turns out that’s not right (thanks Dre!), PoP gives you the number of points a player is worth per game, above or below the average player. So a PoP of 3 means that the player was worth 3 more points than the average player.

Eric, that's not quite right. Points over par is using the player's box score and returning the number of points a player is worth a game. It is not using the +/- stat at all. It does adjust for an average player. So an "average" player earns 0 points.
